Oats pongal

Oats as all know is rich in fibre and very good for health,i no need to write about the benefits of it.Apart for porridge we can make many dishes with it think many know it,but i want then all in my blog so included.

Ingredients

1.Oats- 1 cup
2.Moong dal-1\4 cup
3.Green chilli-1
4.Ginger-1 cm length(small piece)
5.pepper & jeera-1\2 tsp
6.Ghee & oil-1 tsp
7.Cashew& almond( ur preference)
8.Coriander leaves
9.Salt

Method:

1.Dry roast oats well.

2.In a pan cook moong dal with 1 to 1 1\2 cup water& salt..When it is almost cooked add the oats & keep mixing.As oats cooks very fast it will be done very soon.Remove from fire when cooked.

3.Mean while cut ginger & chilli.Heat oil&ghee ,add jeera,pepper corns,ginger,chilli,cashew and badam in this order.u may also add the leaves.When done tranfer to the pongal & give a quick mix.

Serve hot with coconut chutney..
