Semiya Payasam/Vemicelli Kheer

Semiya payasam(vermicelli kheer) think will take a place in the menu of all marriages  and its also made is every festivals.I too made it yesterday for church feast,Its quite very easy to make even a beginner can make it easily.


  • Semiya (vermicelli)- 1 cup
  • Boiled milk- 2.5 cup
  • sugar- 3\4 cup
  • Cashew& raisins- little
  • Ghee- 2 tbsp

1.Heat ghee in pan and roast cashew ,raisins and keep aside.

2.In the same pan add semiya and dry roast until it become light brown colour.

3.Then add milk to it and cook until the semiya become soft.

4.Add sugar to it  and keep in simmer for 2-4 mins.

5.Add the ghee roasted cashew& raisins and serve.

This can be served either hot or cold,taste good .


1.You can cook semiya seperately in water and add to boiled milk.
2.When cooled it become thicker so add milk while serving.
3.If u prefer u can add saffron.
