Horse gram vadai with step by step pictures.
I don't need to say about the benefit of horsegram, let me add few if you don't know about it.For people who are obese, this horsegram is a big gift. Try eating it more & you will lose weight. As the name says it gives horsepower/energy to us. I made it this evening and to say the true nothing was left for me to taste both my kids finished it.
Soaking time- 8hrs.
Cooking time: 15 mins
Cuisine: South Indian
- Horsegram- 1 or 1\2 cup
- Onion- 1 big
- Green chilli-1 or 2
- Ginger- 1 cm length
- Cilantro/Coriander leaves(optional)
- Fennel seeds- 1 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Oil to fry
1. Check for stones in horsegram. sometimes there may be stones.
2. Soak horse gram for about 8 hrs.
3. Drain the water completely and grind in mixie jar to a coarse texture.
4.Cut onion ginger& g.chillies.
5.Add it to the ground mix.Add fennel seeds, cilantro leaves,salt and mix well.
6.Heat oil in a kadai, take small ball of the dough and flatten in ur palm,add it to the heated oil.
7.Fry on both sides,transfer it to kitchen towel
Serve hot with ketchup. It will be superb for this winter, try it.
