Red Velvet Cake with Cream frosting

This is my first attempt to try frosting & it came out almost fine.Yesterday my father's birthday i baked this velvet cake for him.I couldn't get correct red colour,i got orange red food color.Anyway i baked it & my kids ,dad all were happy.I referred two three blog and made it.

  • Flour- 1 1\4 cup
  • Salt- a pinch
  • Cocoa powder- 1 tbsp
  • Butter-
  • Sugar- 3\4 cup
  • Egg-1
  • Vannila essence- 1\2 tsp
  • Red food colour- 1 tsp
  • Buttermilk- 1\2 cup
  • vinegar-1\2 tsp
  • B.soda- 1\2 tsp
1.Sieve flour,salt & cocoa powder
2.Pre- heat the oven.Mix red colour in buttermilk &keep ready.
3.Beat butter in bowl.add sugar & beat until fluffy.
4.Add in the egg ,beat well.mix vanilla essence to it.
5.Then fold in flour mixture & buttermilk alternatively to the mixture till the flour get finished.
6.Mix vinegar  with baking soda,it will start to bubble pour quickly to the batter.
7.Pour the cake mix to the greased pan 7 bake for 25- 30 min or till done.
8.Cool  it on the rack.
For frosting:
Whipping cream
Icing sugar
1.Beat the cream well with icing sugar  for about 10 min or until it forms peaks.
2.You can cut the cake horizontally into two & apply the cream on it.(I didn't do it).
3.If u wish add colour to the cream and decorate as per ur wish.

1.Before applying the frosting on cake keep it in fridge for some time.
