Shrikhand is one of the easiest dessert one can make and is a popular sweet in Marathi menu.Learnt while googling they use to serve this with puri ,doesn't look strange, each part has different food cuisine.This recipe just need mixing and no any extra effort to make it,while writing this post too I am eating a cup of it.
- 2 cup of yogurt
- sugar- 1\2 cup or acc.to ur taste
- 2 tbsp. warm milk
- generous pinch of saffron strands
- 1\2 tsp.cardamon powder
- 1 tbsp. of nuts(pistachio & almond)
1.Pour the yogurt in a clean muslin cloth and hang it for 4-5 hrs or overnight.
Discard the whey and use thick yogurt,it called hung curd/thick yogurt.
2. Heat the milk in M/W for few seconds,add saffron to it,stir and let it sit for 5 mins.
3.In another big mixing bowl take the hung curd add sugar to it and whisk it well till sugar get mixed well to a creamy texture.
4.Now add the saffron with milk,cardamon powder and mix well.
5.Transfer it to serving glass/bowl top it with chopped nuts.
6.Chill it and serve.

Shrikhand made with mango pulp is called Amrakhand and its very popular.
1.You can add some cream to this and mix it.
2.Can add a pinch of nutmeg powder also.
