Chicken is one non-veg which is liked by almost all non-vegetarians.We can do different experiment with it and to say the truth it will not fail.One Sunday i tried this chicken with almond/badam and it was hit.Its very easy to make and try it out.
- Blanched Almond/Badam- 15
- Coconut- 2 to 3 tbsp
- Chicken-1\2 kg
- Ginger garlic paste- 1 tsp
- Green chillies-2,slitted
- Onion -1 big chopped
- Turmeric powder-1\2 tsp
- Red kashmiri chilly powder- 1 tsp
- Coriander/dhanya powder- 1 tsp
- Garam masala- 1\2 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Oil- 2 tbsp
- Potato-1 (optional)
- Lemon juice- 1 tsp
- Bay leaf-1
- Cinnamon-2 stick
1.Wash the chicken pieces well and keep aside.
2.Grind the blanched almond with coconut to a fine paste with some water.
3.Heat oil in a kadai/wok,add the whole spices first and cook for a minute.
4.Then add sliced onions,green chilly and saute till the onion becomes translucent,then add ginger garlic paste and cook till the raw smell goes.
5.Then add the cleaned chicken and saute.Add in tomato,all powders and coconut almond paste,check in for salt.
6.Add potatoes(if adding) and give a good stir.
7.Add 1\2- 1 cup water( or needed) to the mix and cover it till its all cooked.
8.Remove from heat and squeeze lemon on it.
Garnish with cilantro/coriander leaves.
Serve with any roti/naan/ hot rice,pulao.
1.To blanch almond MW it with 1\2 cup water for a minute.Cool it and just remove skin.
Else drop it in hot water and remove the skin.
2.We all love potatoes in chicken,omit it if u don't like it.
