I am receiving Tarla Dalal 's "Cooking & more "for more then 5 months and i have not tried any dish from it as sometimes as when i decide to make any, things won't be in my pantry.Two days before i decided to try this one from her book with slight changes.Very apt to feed the kids back from school.
- Fresh bread slices( i used whole wheat,ragi and oats bread)
- Butter for greasing & smearing
- Grated carrot- 3\4 th cup
- Green bell pepper- 1\2 (diced very small)
- Grated cheese- 3 tbsp
- Butter- 3 tbsp
- Green chilly-1 finely chopped
- White vinegar- 1 tsp
- Chat Masala- 1/2 tsp
- Salt to taste.
1.In a bowl add all the ingredients under "For filling " and mix well.
2.Remove the crusts from bread sliced and flatten each slice using rolling pin.
3.Place a bread piece on a clean surface .Place little of the prepared filling on one end and roll it tightly.
4.Cut it into pieces.Arrange them on a greased baking tray and apply little melted butter on each roll.
5.Repeat it for all slices and filling.
6.Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180 deg C for 10-12 mins.
1.The original recipe called for mustard powder,i replaced it with chat masala.
2.She used only carrots for filling ,i added capsicum also.Do as per ur wish.
3.You can use any bread variety.
