Focaccia is a flat oven baked italian bread topped with herbs or other ingredients.
Its usually seasoned with olive oil and salt and sometimes with herbs.Here i used mixed italian herbs for seasoning with olive oil.
- Flour- 1 &1\2 cup
- Dry yeast- 3\4 tbsp
- sugar- 1 tsp
- Salt- as needed
- Olive oil- 4 tbsp + as needed
- Warm water-1\2 cup
- Mixed italian herbs
- Onion sliced
- chopped cilantro
1.Take yeast in a bowl,add warm water,sugar and mix well,cover it and let it sit for sometime to forth up.If it doesnot foam up discard it ,go for new yeast.
2.Take flour and salt in a mixing bowl,add the yeast water to it and mix well,add olive oil and make and make a non sticky dough.Keep it covered to double.
3.After 1-1.5 hrs it would have doubled,punch it down, and roll it down and place it in a bking tray.make impressions over it with ur fingers.
4.Generously drizzle olive oil over it and top it with the topping and allow to rise again.
5.After it had risen,bake it in pre- heated oven for 20 mins at 180deg C.
6.Remove it ,cool it and slice and serve.
1.The toppings is your choice.
2.While making dough if its sticky add little more flour.
