Its been raining in Chennai from midnight and the weather is soo comforting,thank God for the lovely climate.Coming to the recipe ,this porridge is so easy to make within 10-15 mins and don't need a extra side dish to accompany this.We ate it as like that,if u prefer u can have some hot pickles to it.
- Raw rice-1 cup (broken)
- samba wheat rava- 1\4 cup
- Split yellow moongdal- 2 tbsp
- Garlic pods- 4(peeled)
- carrot-3 tbsp( small cubed)(optional)
- Jeera/cumin seeds- 1 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
1.Take raw rice in the mixer/pulser and pulse in for few seconds,now u get broken rice.
(this how i made).
2.In a pressure cooker,add cleaned rice ,wheat rava and moongdal.then add all ingredients to it.I added carrot,u many avoid it .
3.Then add some 2 1\2 to 3 cups of water,salt and pressure cook it for 3-4 whistles.
4.After the steam has released open &mash garlic well .if it too thick add hot water to required consistency u want.
An easy porridge is ready to serve.
1.For diluting after cooking, u must add only hot water.
2.This is just a basic ,u can do variation as per ur taste.
