As i have mentioned in my first post of this month,September means birthday month for us and the celebration starts from today,yes today my life's special man's birthday.To him i want to make different cake,while searching many goes with beet- choc cake but i don't want any chocolate and ended up with this cake.Blogging has given confident to bake cakes now i am glad about it.
- Flour- 1 &1\4 cup
- Beetroot- 1 big
- Sugar-1 cup(powdered)
- canola oil/unflavoured oil- 1\2 cup(or melted butter)
- Vanilla essence/cherry essence- 1\2 tsp
- Baking powder- 1 tsp
- Baking soda- 1\4 tsp
- Milk- 1\4 cup(if needed only,i didn't use)
1.Peel the outer skin of beetroot and cook it with 1\3 cup water till well cooked.Cool it and make puree of it.keep ready.Pre heat the oven at 180 deg C.
2.Sieve flour with baking soda & baking powder.
3.Cream sugar with oil well.Add the beetroot puree to it and mix well.
4.Add the flour in batch and mix well add little milk if it is difficult to mix else no need.
5.Lastly add essence and give a quick stir.Pour the batter in a greased& floured pan and bake it for 30 mins or till a knife inserted comes clean.Mine got done in 30 mins.
6.Cool it and decorate as per ur wish.
I just added some simple icing and topped it with edible silver beads and colourful candies.
