Two weeks before i brought a huge quantity if ginger and was wandering what to do with it ,i searched and got this recipe from here,then learnt this will be one recipe in the onam menu.Try this easiest recipe with ginger and enjoy with your rice.



Ingredients:


  • Grated ginger- 3\4 cup
  • Tamarind - big lemon size
  • Red chilly powder- 2 tsp( acc. to ur spice level)
  • turmeric powder- 1\4 tsp
  • Jaggery- a small piece
  • Sesame/gingelly oil- 2 -3 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds- 1\2 tsp
  • Hing powder- 1\4 tsp
  • Salt to taste






Method:

1.Clean the outer skin of ginger and grated it finely.Soak tamarind in water and extract juice of it.

2.Heat oil in a pan,pop out mustard and hing powder.then add grated ginger and saute for while.

3.Then add red chilly powder,turmeric powder,tamarind juice ,jaggery and salt.Let it all cook well and come to a mass consistency.

4.When the oil floats on top the pan switch it off,cool it and transfer it to a clean ,dry container.

Enjoy with your rice.
