- Rice flour-1 cup
- Black sesame seeds-1 tsp
- Hot water
- Salt- to taste
- Oil-to fry
- Grated coconut-3 tsp
- shallots/small onion-5
- Garlic pods-2
- Cumin seeds-1\2 tsp
1.Grind all the ingredients under" to grind" to a paste.If using ready made flour dry roast for a while.(i used home made idiyappam flour).
2.In a bowl add flour,ground paste,sesame seeds and salt.First mix well then slowly add hot water and make a pliable dough.Cover and keep since it may dry.
3.Take small lemon sized and roll it on a plastic sheet.Then make a cylinder shaped using ur finger and seal the ends.Make it for all the dough.
4.Heat oil and fry these made appam in batches until golden brown.Drain excess oil.
5.Cool and store it in an air tight container.
