- Maida/flour-1 cup
- Urad dal flour-1\4 cup( i used ready made flour)
- Butter/vanaspathi-1 tbsp
- Black sesame seeds-1\2 tsp
- Hing powder-1\2 tsp
- water as needed.
- Salt to taste
- Oil to fry
1.Keep the flour in a cloth,close and steam it in an idli make for few minutes.Then open it break the large pieces with a hand and sieve it further.
2.Dry roast urad flour in a pan.(see notes)
3.In a mixing bowl add sieve maida flour,urad dal flour,salt,butter ,sesame seeds and hing powder.Mix well.Slowly add water and make a soft dough.
4.Fill the murukku presser with the dough and pipe it in circles in a paper.Meanwhile heat oil for frying.
5.Drop the piped murrukku it hot oil and fry till done.Drain excess oil.
Cook and store it in an air tight container.
Serve as snack for tea/coffee.
1. If u don't have readymade flour,dry roast urad dal well till nice aroma comes.cool,powder it ,sieve and use.
