Mostly we order this paneer butter masala when we go for restaurant as its my daughter's favourite.For the people who don't about paneer,its nothing but Indian cottage cheese prepared by curdling the milk.Check here how to make it.I mostly make it but never blogged about it for a change i decided to click picture and write about it.Each one may have their own version.This is mine and sorry for the poor pictures.

cooking time:under 30 mins
Serves-2 to 3
Paneer-200 gms (i used store brought),cut into cubes
Tomato-1,big (make puree of it)
Red chilly powder-1 n1\2 tsp
coriander powder-1 n 1\2 tsp
turmeric powder-1\2 tsp
garam masala-1\2 tsp
Kasuri methi- generous pinch
Salt to taste
Cream-2 tbsp(optional)( i didnot use it)
Ginger-1 inch piece
Garlic -6 cloves
1.Grind onion,garlic and ginger to a fine paste.Add tomato in a mixer and make puree of it.Chop the paneer in to cubes.Soak cashew in milk for a while and grind to fine paste.
2.Heat oil and butter in a pan,add the ground onion paste and saute till the raw smell goes.Then add the tomato puree and cook for a while.Add in all the dry powders with some water and cook for while for the raw smell goes.
3.Then add cubed paneer and cashew milk paste and cook till everything blends well.Check for salt.
4.Lastly crush some kasuri methis leaves in your palm and add in to it.
If using cream lastly add in and switch off.
Tasty restaurant style paneer butter masala is ready.
1.You can saute the cubed paneer in oil and then add in to the gravy.
