First i ask sorry for the fault i did while baking,i over baked it hence burnt at bottom. But the taste was good since I made pastry sheets alongwith the process i don't want to omit this post in blog so i decided to write it here. But in my second batch baking of the same sheets i got it correctly baked where i used sweet stuffing.
For puff pastry sheet:
- Flour/maida- 100 gms
- Cold butter/margarine-100 gms + 25 gms( i used margarine)
- Salt-1\2 tsp
- sugar-1 tsp
Milk -to brush on top while baking
For filling( Egg masala)
- Boiled eggs-2
- Oil-1 tbsp
- Ginger garlic paste-1\2 tsp
- turmeric powder-1\2 tsp
- red chilly powder-1 tsp
- coriander powder-1\2 tsp
- garam masala-1\2 tsp
- salt to taste
- coriander leaves
For puff pastry sheet:
1.In a bowl add flour, salt, sugar and 25 gms butter.mix well to resemble bread crumbs.Slowly add water and make on sticky dough.Cover and keep aside in fridge.
2.Take the 100 gms margarine bash them and form a rectangle from with it.Take the dough out roll in form of a rectangle.Place the bashed butter/margarine in the middle and wrap on all sides.
3.Cover it with fling film and keep in fridge for 10 mins.Them take it out and roll it to a long rectangle .Then fold them in both sides.cover and keep it in fridge.
4.Do this (3 ) step 3-4 times to get more flaky layers.Lastly take it out and roll it well.cut them into squares/rectangles.This is your pastry sheets.Use them or cover and freeze it for later use.
For egg masala:
1.Heat oil in a pan,add in onion saute till it becomes translucent.then add gg paste saute till raw smell goes.
2.Then add in all powders followed by chopped tomato and cook till it becomes mushy.
3.When the oil separates on top add chopped coriander leaves and switch off. This is the masala.
To it add boiled egg.
1.Take a sheet add a piece of boiled egg and some cooked masala.Seal the sheet with some water.
2.Place it a a baking tray.Do the same for the needed sheets and brush milk on top.
3.Bake it in a pre-heated oven for 20-25mins or till it browns on top at 180 deg C.
Relish egg puff with a cup of tea.
1.Since i over baked it ,it got burnt at the bottom, pls check in between.
2.Baking time vary from oven to oven.
