Isthu Recipe is nothing but potato stew which is also one of Kerala's recipes.Potatoes are loved by all and with the combination of coconut milk it tastes too good.Best to pair for appam,idiyappam.As this is not spicy kids will love it.
Preparation time: 10 mins
Cooking time:under 30 mins
- coconut oil-1 tbsp
- Jeera-1\2 tsp
- Onion-1 big
- green chilly-1
- ginger paste-1\2 tsp
- Thin coconut milk-1\2 cup
- Thick coconut milk-1\2 cup
- Pepper powder-1 tsp
- Garam masala-1\4 tsp
- Salt to taste
- curry leaves
1.Clean and cook the potato.peel the skin and break in to pieces with hand.
2.Heat oil in a pan,add in jeera followed by onion and green chilly saute for while(onion must not become dark) then add ginger paste and saute till raw smell goes.
3.Then add smashed potato along with pepper ,salt and thin coconut milk.Cook till it blends well.
4.Lastly add thick milk and garam masala ans wait for a boil.Swtich off.sprinle curry leaves on top
Serve for appam / idiyappam or even chapathi.
