Semolina /Rava coconut cake -Eggless & Butterless

As the kids are at their summer vacation they ask for some/more snack.What ever i buy from outside it get over instantly so a day i decided to bake this coconut cake since a pack of it was lying in my pantry.The aroma of freshly baked cake is truly awesome and tasted great with a cup of tea.

  • Dessicated coconut-1 cup
  • Rava/Sooji/semolina-1 cup
  • Flour/maida-1\2 cup
  • Granulated sugar-3\4 cup
  • Oil-1\3 cup
  • milk-1 cup
  • baking powder-1 tsp
  • vanilla essence- 1 tsp
  • nuts-2 tbsp


1.Take rava in a bowl and add milk to it,let it be for sometime.In another bowl add dessicated coconut ,maida and baking powder,mix well.

2.To the rava+ milk mixture add sugar and mix well till it dissolve.To this add the dry ingredients mix  and mix it well.

3.Then add oil,essence and nuts one by one in the same order and mix it up.

4.Pour this mixture to a greased pan and bake it a pre heated oven fro 30-35 mins at 180deg C till a knife inserted comes out clear.

5.Cool,invert,slice and serve.


1,Baking time vary from oven to oven.
