Drumstick leaves - Lentils Crepes | Murunga Keerai / Moringa Adai | Breakfast Recipe

Breakfast is the most important meal of a day and it should never be skipped for any reason.It is said , have breakfast like a king , yes one must take breakfast to the full with all necessary nutrition in it and can avoid other meals.But we see many school/ college goers avoid the breakfast .This has to be changed atleast they must take a big glass of porridge made with cereals and some fruits.

This adai is so healthy and filling by itself and it makes very much healthier   together with the super food, drumstick leaves .No fermentation is needed for this savory crepes.Just grind it and keep for some time preferably half an hour and make this dosa.

Preparation time: 2.30 hours ( including soaking time)
cooking time approx 3-4 mins per adai


  • Raw rice- 1\3 cup
  • idly rice-1\3 cup
  • channa dal-1\4 cup
  • urad dal-1\4 cup
  • red chilly-3
  • ginger -1-inch size
  • salt - to taste
  • oil-1 tsp
  • asafoetida/hing-1\2 tsp
  • drumstick leaves- 1\2 cup
  • gingelly oil- to make adai

1.Clean rice, dal and soak for two hours along with red chilly.

2.Drain  and grind it along with ginger.The batter need not be fine.

3.Add salt ,mix and Keep the batter for while.

4.Heat oil in a pan add in hing powder and the cleaned leaves. saute for a while.Add this to the ground batter.Mix well.

5.Heat a dosa tawa / pan.Pour a ladle of the prepared batter.Drizzle oil along the side.When cooked on one side flip and cook the other side.
