Summer is one season when markets will be loaded with variety of fruits to quench the thirst.This jamun plum ,called as 'naval pazham' in tamil has a sweet and sour taste with unique purple color leaving a tan on your lips after consuming it. It is loaded with health benefits and its seeds to are believed as a medicine for daibetics.I have heard people drying these seeds after consuming the flesh,powder it and eat a tsp a day.
Last week when I saw this fruit I was so curiuos to buy and try some recipes as I have not tried any with it and bought quarter kg.To start with I made this simple drink with a doubt whether my kids will drink.to my surprise my son liked it more than my daughter.

Cooking time: under 5 mins
Makes 2 glasses.
- Indian wild plum/naval pazham- 15 pieces
- sugar- 2 tbsp
- water- 1 cup
- chilled water-to dilute
1.Keep the wild plums in container filled with water. This is to remove all dust, sand that are sticked to it.change the water and clean again if needed.
2.Add the cleaned fruit in bowl.Add in a cup of water and sugar.boil for few minutes for the plums to become soft. Switch off and cool it.
3.When cooled the seeds can be easily taken off from it.Blend it with an immersion blender or mixer.
4.Filter the juice .dilute with chilled water and serve immediately.
1.You can squeeze lemon and serve as lemonade.
