Corn Puttu with step by step pictures.Puttu is a steamed breakfast which is considered healthy. It is one of the main breakfast recipes in the state of Kerala. There they serve with kadalai curry, cooked payaru (green grams)-papad, chicken/mutton gravy and for the sweet version they give sugar and banana. I always love to have my puttu with banana and sugar.
Puttu can be made with any flour, rice or millets. I have some version of it my blog. Search it in the search box on the right side. This puttu can be served even for diabetic people with any spicy gravy as side dish.

Corn puttu flour-1 cup (yellow corn puttu flour, readymade flour)
Salt to taste
1. Add corn puttu flour, salt in a bowl.
2. Add water and make a dough in such a way that it can hold shape when taken together and easily break.
3. Fill the puttu maker first with coconut followed by prepared flour, then coconut shaving. The topmost layer is the coconut one.
4. Steam it for 10 mins.
5. With the help of a rod push from the backside of the maker.
Serve hot with spicy gravy or banana -sugar combo.
