Mushroom masala with step by step pictures

 Mushroom masala is a quick recipe that can be made quickly for roti/chapati or even naan. Though I have made this mushroom masala earlier many times I have never blogged about it. So last week when I made I decided to click and hence posting here. Just sauteeing onion-tomato in oil, adding spices, mushroom and simmering till it blends well. That's it you masala is ready.

oil- 1 tbsp
Fennel seeds-1 tsp
Onion-1, finely chopped
Ginger garlic paste-1 tsp
Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
Red chilli powder-1 & 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder-1 & 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Mushroom-1 packet (1/4 kg)
Coriander leaves.


1. Clean the mushroom well and cut it.

2. Heat oil. add fennel seeds. Then add chopped onion, saute till translucent. Then add ginger garlic paste, saute till raw smell goes. Then add tomato, cook till it becomes soft.

3. Add all the spice powders.

4. Add little water and cook.

5. Add the mushroom. mix well and cook well till the gravy become thick.

6. When it gets thick switch off. Add chopped coriander leaves.

Serve hot for roti.
