Brinjal podi masala is simple to make side dish for rice. With the rosted masala powder this dish will taste awesome. It's a perfect combo with rasam or mor kuzhambu. If you like brinjal then you will surely like it.

oil- 1 tbsp+ 1 tsp

Curry leaves-few

Salt to taste

To roast & grind:

channa dal-2 tsp

Red chilli-6(adjust)

coriander seeds- 2 sp

Jeera-1 tsp

Coconut -1/3 cup


A quick video

1. Heat a TSP of oil. Add channa dal, red chilli, coriander seeds, Jeera, coconut and roast

2. Cool and powder it.

3. Heat oil in another pan. Add onion,curry leaves,sliced brinjal and saute.

4. Add the prepared masala,salt.cover nad cook for few minutes. Brinjal podi masala is ready.

Serve as accompaniment for rice along with rasam or sambar.
